In 2016, the Ministry of Education announced its plan for transforming Ministry-funded child and family programs across Ontario. We now refer to this one service as EarlyON. The goal of EarlyON is to enhance the quality and consistency of child and family programs across Ontario.
The Region of Waterloo is the Consolidated Municipal Service Manager for EarlyON in Waterloo Region. In 2018, the Region of Waterloo chose the YMCA of Three Rivers as the Lead Agency of EarlyON Child and Family Centres in the Waterloo Region. The YMCA collaborates with community partners to provide welcoming; high-quality; play-based learning experiences for our community.
We believe in building a friendly and inclusive environment. EarlyON provides environments, programs and services to foster positive learning. Our centres and mobile sites are places where children, parents, and caring adults can learn, play, laugh and be curious.
What We Offer…
EarlyON offers a range of free online and in-person programs. We have on-site EarlyON Professionals ready to provide support, advice, and helpful resources to expecting parents and caregivers.
We acknowledge that the land on which the work of EarlyON | Waterloo Region is provided is the territory of the Haudenosaunee, Anishnaabe, and Neutral People. The presence of the Indigenous people with whom we share this land today, their achievements, and their contributions to our community are acknowledged. We offer this knowledge as an act of reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples of Canada.
